Fabulous Find of the day!

The fabulous find of the day comes from a luxurious website: Brocade Home. I love, love, love crystal chandeliers! This chandelier votive holder would look absolutely fabulous hanging in my home...Master Bedroom perhaps? I would love to add a sage green silk chain cover to match my bedroom decor. This would also be stunning hanging over a large bathtub in a Master Bathroom...I am picturing a relaxing bubble bath surrounded by candlelight! This chandelier will add a touch of class to almost any style home including: Cottage Style, Shabby Chic, Traditional and Contemporary. Enjoy!

A fabulous custom order!

Ooh-la-la, so tres chic! I just had to show off these gorgeous tags that were a custom order on Etsy:-) I really enjoyed making these tags as I had to come up with a couple of new designs and the colors reminded me of winter (I am soooo tired of this Texas heat!). You may be seeing some similar designs in the future!

Fabulous Finds of the day!

I love roses...they are my favorite flower (especially pink roses, of course)!. I've used these tips from Martha Stewart in the past and the flowers really do last longer. Enjoy!

If roses have survived on Earth for more than 35 million years, why can't they last more than a few days in a vase? Fortunately, there are some tricks for preserving a bouquet of roses. Begin by trimming excess foliage from the bottom of the stem. If you like, remove the flowers' thorns, but keep in mind that it may shorten their vase life. Use a rose dethorner, or wearing leather work gloves, slide your hands along the stem from top to bottom to remove thorns.

Flowers last longer if their stems are cut under water. Use a sharp knife, and cut the stem on a slant so it can absorb as much water as possible. Next, place the roses in a flask filled with 2 inches of warm water (no hotter than 110 degrees); this expedites the flow of water into the flower. Add either cut-flower food or a teaspoon of sugar and a couple drops of liquid bleach to a vase filled with cool water up to the point where the foliage will hit. After 5 minutes, transfer roses to the vase.

To revive wilted flowers, submerge them overnight in a sink filled with cool water. Tie them together with cord, and attach fishing weights or washers as an anchor.

A new look is coming soon!

A new look is coming soon to my Etsy store. My sister designed these fabulous bag toppers for me a few weeks ago and my Etsy store will soon have a new banner and avatar (hopefully the blog, too) to match. I'm really excited because I love the petal pink/black/white color combo!
