The thrill of victory....

My daughter's drill team participated in a competition last weekend and the girls did extremely well! We were so proud of them and from the quality/quantity of awards that they won, all of their hard work paid off! I was so engrossed in their performances that I forgot to take pictures of all of the dances! The girls performed 4 dances, including a dance to a song from "Peter Pan". All of the costumes were beautiful and well-made. It was a long day with the girls leaving on the bus at 7:00AM Saturday morning and returning around 12:30 AM. The girls have another competition this weekend so we will be out of town. I am busy packing today and trying to mark numerous things off of my long list of "things to do" :-)

11:15 PM...Savannah and Mommy, right after the awards ceremony (she looks soooo tired). I was especially proud of Savannah for being picked for all 4 of the dances (which is very hard to do for a 1st year drill team member)!



During a break at the competition, my husband and I ate a peaceful lunch together and I shopped at a local Stein Mart and Marshalls department store. I don't shop at Steinmart very often, but they always have beautiful home decor and the quality is very good. I was glad that I had my camera with me so I could share these pics with you of Stein Mart!

My DVR (yes, I consider it mine...my hubby doesn't have any shows recorded on it, hee hee)in the Master Bedroom is always full because of the old movies that I love to watch! Occasionally I record some movies that I know my daughter will enjoy. Cover Girl was perfect for our mother/daughter movie night! I don't think this movie had the best script but the dancing, music and fashions were really fabulous! I tried to find pics from the movie but I found very few. Rita Hayworth plays a dancer/model in the movie so if you want to see glamorous fashions from the 1940's, then this Technicolor movie is for you. You will see lots of chic red lipstick, beautiful wavy hair, to-die-for jackets with peplums/fitted waists, ladylike gloves and lots of gorgeous over-the-top hats!

I've been busy...Correspondence Envelopes...a fabulous custom order


Today was my lucky day...I received 3 packages in the mail today (I am blogging about 2 of them today). FABULOUS FIND OF THE DAY: My Wriskey and Sew La Mode T-shirt arrived today...yahoo! I fell in love with this shirt and I had to have it..ooh-la-la! I had a really difficult time deciding which Wriskey to purchase but I chose to go with the chic pink cheetah print (pink....of course!).



I won these beautiful and chic ATC's from Teresa Sheeley at French Poppy Greetings. My daughter will be thrilled when she sees them! I am going to frame them and hang them on the wall in her Paris themed bedroom. Thank you, Teresa...you are so talented!

Since today is Valentine's Day, I thought I would post some pics of my little Valentine display. I made my first party hat! It took me a little while to get it just right, but I am quite pleased with the result. Click on the pics to enlarge them.
