"Designing Woman" Movie

I watch a lot of old movies and I especially love Lauren Bacall.  We have been "iced-in" here in the North Texas area so I've been watching a lot of TV this week.  We got quite a bit of snow today which is rare for this area of Texas but the layer of ice underneath the snow makes it difficult for driving.  I recently re-watched Designing Woman with Lauren Bacall and Gregory Peck.  I love this movie!  It's the typical "guy meets girl, gets married on a whim and finds out they don't have much in common" timeless story!  She's a successful fashion designer and he's a sports reporter who is a little rough around the edges (aren't most men before we women get a hold of them, LOL?). If you love a good romantic comedy then this movie is for you.
I have to admit that in spite of his handsome looks I have never been a huge fan of Gregory Peck.  He looks great onscreen but I once read a critic describe his acting as "wooden" and I would have to agree.  Maybe I haven't seen him in the "right" movie, though. Lauren Bacall is divine, as always.
Lauren Bacall has the most fabulous wardrobe in this movie.  Helen Rose designed dozens of costumes for the movie and they were fabulous!  The costumes alone make the movie worth watching :)
I hope you are able to rent this movie or catch on the TCM channel someday.

Have a fabulous day!

I love the apartment decor!
The dress...ooh la la!

The suit could be worn "today"

Ah, yes, I agree, Gregory Peck was not what I would consider a lady's man . . . now Cary Grant on the other hand . . . .

Have a fabulous weekend!! Stay warm!

I've never seen that, but it sounds like it's right up my alley. Gregory Peck was so handsome!
