I'm ready for Easter!

I love Easter. Warmer weather, Texas bluebonnets, pretty pastel Easter decor, and the best time of year for candy!  Stores have the best candy for Easter.  Anything Cadbury (cream eggs, caramel eggs, chocolate filled, candy coated mini chocolate eggs), Russell Stover chocolate covered marshmallow eggs, Milky Way Bunnies, Anything Dove Chocolate!  I could gain so much weight this time of year...ugh.
I usually love to decorate for Easter but when we moved last year I got rid of all of my Easter decor except for a few items from Germany.  I don't really have enough for a little vignette.  I don't know why I got rid of so much stuff.  I actually panicked during the move when I saw how much stuff I had so I ended up donating most of my seasonal decor. I can always buy more, I guess.  I have been trying to live with less, though.

I bought this duvet set for my bedroom last week.  I found a Queen set on the clearance rack at Target. I got them for $61.00!  The set had been opened and was marked "re-packaged" so I got really lucky.  I'm not sure if someone returned the set or what..the set was in perfect condition, though.  I immediately took them home and washed them.  The perfect touch for Spring!

Trisha Yearwood's Crock-Pot Chocolate Candy

This recipe is so delicious! I made 2 batches before Christmas and ate quite a bit of it myself...ugh.  Everyone loved it!  It's so easy, too.  It would be great for Easter so I want to share the recipe with all of you.

Trisha Yearwood's Crock-Pot Chocolate Candy Recipe:

2 lbs (36 oz) salted dry-roasted peanuts
4 oz (4 squares) German's sweet chocolate
1 12-oz package semisweet chocolate chips (about 2 cups)
2½ lbs white almond bark

1. Put the peanuts in the bottom of a 4-quart slow-cooker. Layer the chocolate over the peanuts, beginning with the sweet chocolate, followed by the chocolate chips, and then the almond bark. Set the temperature on low and cook for 3 hours. Do not stir the mixture.

2. After 3 hours, stir the mixture with a wooden spoon until smooth. Drop the candy into cupcake pan liners, using about 2 tablespoons per liner. Allow the candy to cool completely before removing the cupcake liners. Makes 30 to 40 pieces.

I used a crock pot liner...DON'T DO THIS!  It's really hard to get all of the chocolate off of the liner.  What was I thinking?  It was Christmas time...I wasn't :)

Shabby Chic Style Shopping at Big Lots

I haven't shopped at Big Lots in a long time.  The Big Lots store in my former town was a dump!  It was dirty and messy.  It took me a long time to visit the store in my new area (until recently) and I'm glad that I did.  This store was super clean and very well organized.  Big Lots carries a line designed by Jessica McClintock and it's really fabulous!  This line will fit a variety of home decor.  I signed up for the frequent shopper card and received an email for 20% off my entire purchase last Saturday and Sunday...what a fabulous deal!
